Some really smart scientist just did some research and talked to kids and families across the country and found out that being nice makes you HAPPIER!

It’s 2013 now and I have a challenge for you to do 13 random acts of kindness this year. There are lots of things you could do to make others feel good about themselves……so start thinking and write down the 13 random acts of kindness you want to do.

Lorenzo here in New York City reminding you to use words that make others feel better! Did you know that words have a lot of power and when you use bad words, people feel bad and when you use kind words, people feel GREAT!

I want you to go up to someone this week and tell them three things you like about them and see how they react! They will be soooo happpy!

Did you know that it if you see someone bullying or hurting someone, you need to tell an adult right away. Some kidz think that it’s tattling but that’s just not true. Taking care of each is other is super coolio!

Remember this motto:

See Something…………….Hear Something………….Do Something

You are super coolio just the way you are by being you! You don’t need to look or act like someone else because that just wouldn’t be you.

When you are kind, smart, coolio and happy……………….) that is the best way to be.

So if someone tells you to change and act more cool or dress a certain way, just remind them that you love you the way you are!

I want you to know that I don’t ever listen to kids who tell me mean things about myself or others. I know that I am coolio and kind so you should know that too! If someone says that you are not smart or fat or ugly, that just means they don’t like themselves and they don’t feel good about themselves. Never listen to that kind of stuff, or better yet, see if you can help them feel better about themselves. Tell them kind things and let them know they don’t have to be that way. Always tell an adult whenever other kids continue to say mean things.

Many kidz are now going to new schools because they have moved to a new neighborhood or town or they have moved to Middle School or High School. When you move to a new school, it’s a great opportunity to make new friends. You don’t have to have a lot of friends right away but once you find ONE friend, then you can make others or sometimes all you need is just one friend. Kidz that are kind and helpful always hang out with the same kind, so remember to stay kind and do your best every day.
